Quality & process
Quality & Process
Consistency where it matters, honesty about natural variation — and a defined sequence from raw material to export carton.
Our approach
Quality in Natural Products
Dried botanicals and handmade sola flowers are natural products. No two pods, leaves or hand-formed petals are identical, and that character is part of their appeal.
Quality therefore means two things: controlling what can be controlled — form, size range, finish, colour against an approved sample, dryness, counts and packing — and being clear with buyers about the natural variation that remains.
The process
Ten Stages, Raw Material to Export
Stages vary by product — not every item is bleached, dyed or assembled — but the sequence below shows how a typical sola flower moves from raw material to export carton.
- 01Raw materialSola pith and other botanicals selected for form, size and tone.
- 02CuttingMaterial cut and pared into workable sheets and pieces.
- 03Petal formationPetals, buds and components shaped by hand.
- 04Hand assemblyComponents assembled into flowers, balls and forms.
- 05DryingMoisture reduced so products hold their shape and store well.
- 06Bleaching or treatmentApplied only where the finish requires it.
- 07DyeingColour applied to the approved shade.
- 08Quality inspectionChecked against the specification and approved sample.
- 09PackingCounted, bunched or weighed and packed to protect form.
- 10ExportDocumentation and dispatch to your destination.
Quality control
What We Check Before Packing

- Colour & FinishDyed and bleached items compared with the approved sample under consistent light.
- Form & ConditionShape, petal integrity and breakage in hand-formed and brittle items.

Grades
Choose the Grade for Your Use
Grading lets you balance uniformity against cost. Custom grading is available on request.
- PremiumSuperior quality, uniform size and colour, minimal breakage — for retail displays, gifting and premium floristry.
- SelectGood quality with slight natural variation — ideal for décor, arrangements and crafts.
- EconomyNatural and cost-effective, with more variation in size — suited to bulk use, fillers and potpourri.
Natural variation
What Varies, and What Does Not
Naturally variable: the exact size and shape of pods, cones and leaves; grain and texture; the natural tone of sola, palm and grasses; and how each piece takes up dye.
Handmade variation: the petal count, openness and symmetry of hand-formed sola flowers and handmade décor.
Controlled to your order: product type and form, size range and grade, finish, colour against the approved sample, stem configuration, counts and packing.
Buyer-specified quality

After delivery
Keeping Products in Condition
- Unpack promptly on arrival and let products air in a dry room.
- Store cartons off the floor, away from damp walls and humidity.
- Keep dyed and natural items out of prolonged direct sunlight to limit fading.
- Handle brittle pods, leaves and sola petals by their base or stem.
- Dust gently with a soft brush or cool air; do not wash.
