Folded strips of sola, each cut square at the tip, are packed so tightly in SO12 that the head resembles a spiky pompom or a kadam blossom. They radiate outwards in rings from a small, tightly coiled centre, shortening towards the middle so the flower domes gently. The blunt, stepped tips create a strong geometric rhythm that reads well from across a room.
Colour is the natural pale ivory of sola, and the fine grain of the pith is visible on every strip, along with the occasional small natural knot mark. The back view in the product images shows wider flat strips fanned around a rolled sola base, so the head sits upright on a table or can be fitted to a stick. Other images show it styled on warm timber surfaces beside dried gypsophila.
SO12 is handcrafted in India from sola (shola) pith. The many folded strips give it a large surface area, which helps it absorb and release fragrance oils, so it is widely used as a diffuser flower and in scented bowls.

Natural variation
Because every strip is cut and folded by hand, strip length, fullness and the evenness of the dome differ slightly between heads. Sola is a natural pith, so small knot marks and tonal shifts from pale ivory to light cream are normal. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
