SO39 captures a rose at the moment it has fully opened. Instead of the tight, layered cup of a bud-style rose, its broad petals fall outward in a loose ring, leaving only a small curled bud at the centre.
The petals are wide and gently cupped, with smooth faces and softly rounded tips, and the visible grain of the pith gives them a delicate, almost paper-like quality. The low, open shape recalls a camellia or wild rose, which makes it feel lighter and more informal than the fuller sola roses.
That spread profile means the Open Rose covers more surface per flower, so it is useful for flat compositions: framed floral art, wreath faces, gift-lid and stationery décor, and table scatter. It also combines well with fuller roses in a bouquet to add depth and movement.
Floral Mongers supplies SO39 in natural ivory for wholesale and export, with dyed colours and size grading available for florists and décor brands on request.

Natural variation
Because the petals are shaped and opened by hand, the spread, curl and symmetry of each Open Rose differ slightly, and the ivory tone of the natural pith varies from batch to batch. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Store in a cool, dry place; sola pith takes up moisture from humid air
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to limit gradual yellowing of the ivory pith
- Support from underneath; wide open petals can crack at the base if bent
- Dust gently with a soft brush or a hair-dryer on a cool setting
- Diffuser or fragrance oil can be applied; test one piece first, as oil may darken the pith
- Unpack promptly on arrival and let the pieces air in a dry room; avoid storing in sealed, humid packaging
