This version of the Sola Lotus, SO41, is defined by movement. Its petals are long and narrow, tapering to fine points that twist and curl outward, so the flower looks as if it is still opening rather than set in a fixed pose.
Unlike lotus styles with a fringed or skin-edged centre, SO41 is ivory throughout. The inner petals close into a cupped bud of softly rolled pith, and the fine lengthwise grain visible on every petal gives the surface a satin-like sheen under light. The shape sits somewhere between a lotus and a gardenia.
