Mocha is the Bengali name for the banana blossom, and SO58 borrows that bud’s tapering, layered form. Each piece is a slim cone of ivory sola pith, pointed at the tip and wrapped from base to point in spiral bands of the plant’s brown outer skin.
The striping is the defining feature: fine brown lines circle each cone at intervals, creating a pattern that looks almost carved. In the image, several cones are gathered into fan-shaped clusters, with broad, veined leaf-shaped pieces in a dark grey tone set behind them to frame each group.
Because it is so unlike a conventional flower, SO58 adds structure and a sculptural, tropical note to dried arrangements. It suits contemporary and ethnic interiors, festive and pooja décor, and large mixed displays alongside palm, pods and sola flowers. Clustered, it can also stand on its own as a table piece or gift topper.
Floral Mongers supplies SO58 as a handmade sola product for wholesale and export; cluster make-up, leaf accents and presentation can be confirmed with buyers on request.

Applications
- Sculptural dried arrangements
- Tropical and ethnic interior décor
- Festive and pooja décor
- Mixed displays with palm and pods
- Table pieces and gift toppers
- Retail and hospitality displays
Natural variation
The brown spiral stripes come from the natural skin of the sola stem and vary in width and spacing on every cone, and the handmade cones differ slightly in length, taper and curve. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Store in a cool, dry place; sola pith takes up moisture from humid air
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight so the ivory and brown stripes stay distinct
- Hold clusters at the base; the cone tips are pointed and can chip
- Dust gently with a soft brush or a hair-dryer on a cool setting
- Diffuser or fragrance oil can be applied; test one piece first, as oil may darken the pith
- Unpack promptly on arrival and let the pieces air in a dry room; avoid storing in sealed, humid packaging
