Compact and cheerful, the Sola Palm Sunflower SO68 is a small daisy-form sunflower head with a single ring of rounded petals around a raised, textured centre. The photograph shows a heap of mostly yellow heads, with a few orange ones mixed in, each centre finished in dark brown or tan so that it stands out sharply against the petals.
The petals are cut from sola and dyed, and several show a slightly deeper tone at the base and a lighter tip, which adds depth at close range. The centres have a fuzzy, seed-like texture that mimics the disc of a real sunflower, while the petals remain smooth and matte.
Because of their size, these heads are most often used in quantity: glued onto wreaths and frames, scattered through gift packs, or wired into small posies and buttonholes.
