Rope Ball is made by winding natural jute twine (sutli) round and round in tight spirals until it forms a firm, rounded ball. The twine is laid in close, even coils, and on each ball the spiral can be seen starting from a small centre point and working outward over the surface.
The photograph shows three balls in the natural jute colour, a warm sandy beige with fine loose fibres that give a soft, slightly hairy texture. The twisted ply of the twine is visible along every coil, which adds a subtle ribbed pattern.
Rustic and hard-wearing, rope balls are popular as bowl and basket fillers, in farmhouse and coastal interiors, and on shelves and coffee tables. They are also used in Christmas décor, wedding table styling, gift hampers and window displays, and they can be threaded into garlands or hung as ornaments.
Floral Mongers supplies the balls in natural jute, packed by count, with other sizes and colour finishes available to discuss.

Natural variation
Each ball is wound by hand, so size, roundness and coil pattern differ slightly; natural jute also varies in tone and in the amount of loose surface fibre. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Keep dry to avoid jute softening or marking
- Store away from direct sunlight to keep the natural tone
- Brush off dust with a dry soft brush
- Trim any loose fibres carefully with scissors
