Swirls of brown and white wrap around each Sola Rope Ball like marbling. HM14 is made by twisting strips of sola (shola) pith into a soft, rope-like strand, where the brown outer skin and the white inner pith spiral together, and then coiling that strand around a core until a full ball is formed.
The result is a handmade ball with a gently ridged surface and a striking two-tone pattern. The image shows a group of balls: on some the coil spirals outward from a centre point, on others the bands run around the sides, and the proportion of brown to white differs on every piece.
The mixed tones sit comfortably in natural, coastal and earthy interiors, and the lightweight sola makes the balls easy to use in large quantities. They are popular as bowl, tray and vase fillers, in lanterns and baskets, and as table scatter for events. Retailers and gift brands also include them in décor ball assortments and hampers.
As a sola flower manufacturer in India, Floral Mongers crafts Sola Rope Balls by hand and supplies them in counted packs for wholesale and export.

Natural variation
Being handmade from natural sola, the balance of brown skin and white pith, coil pattern and roundness differ on every ball, and the sola tones vary between batches. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Keep dry; sola pith can absorb moisture and soften
- Avoid direct sunlight to limit fading of the brown tones
- Handle gently; sola is light and can dent under pressure
- Dust with a cool hair-dryer on low
- Store in a rigid carton without heavy items on top
- Unpack promptly on arrival and let the pieces air in a dry room; avoid storing in sealed, humid packaging
