Coir, the tough fibre from coconut husk, is twisted into a fine rope and coiled tightly around a core to make HM21. The result is a ball with a rough, hairy surface, where loose fibres stand up from the twists and give it an unmistakably raw, natural feel.
The colour is the warm reddish-brown of natural coir. The image shows a group of handmade balls, some with the rope coiled in neat horizontal rows and others spiralling from a central point, each with a slightly irregular, fuzzy outline.
Coco rope balls bring an earthy, tropical character to interiors and suit terracotta, rattan, dark wood and green plants. They are used as bowl and basket fillers, in large glass jars, as table accents in restaurants and resorts, and in autumn and harvest displays. Eco-themed retailers and gift brands also like them for their plant-fibre origin.
Floral Mongers supplies Coco Rope Balls in counted packs for wholesale and export buyers.
