Bakuli is a compact botanical pod that, once dried, parts along its seams into curved segments resembling a tiny opening bud. The outer surface is a soft, dusky brown with a faint matt bloom, and the inner faces of each segment are a paler, smoother tan, so every pod shows two tones at once.
Loose in a bowl, the pods tumble into a dense, flower-like texture; wired into a design, a single Bakuli becomes a miniature woody bloom. Some pieces are widely open while others remain closer to a closed bud, which adds natural depth when they are used together.
This natural version is sold in its dried state with no bleaching or colour. It is a practical base ingredient for potpourri blends, vase and jar fillers, wreath covering and craft projects, and suitable for adding fragrance oils. Floral Mongers supplies Bakuli in bulk for wholesalers and décor brands looking for dependable natural decorative botanicals from India.

Natural variation
Being a natural pod, Bakuli varies in how widely each piece has opened, in size and in the depth of its brown tone. Some pods carry lighter patches or small marks from the drying process. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Keep dry and away from damp storage areas
- Avoid long exposure to strong sunlight
- Refresh with fragrance oil sparingly if used in potpourri
- Dust with a soft brush or gentle cool air
