Palm Leaf Sunflower is a handmade flower head that pairs dyed palm leaf petals with a genuinely natural centre. Rounded, teardrop-shaped petals are cut from dried palm leaf and arranged in two overlapping layers, and in the middle sits a spiky, dark brown dried seed head that gives the flower its sunflower look.
The photograph shows a single flower from above. The petals are a warm, slightly mottled yellow, and the fine grain of the palm leaf is visible through the dye, along with small natural marks. The centre is dense and bristly, mixing dark brown with lighter golden tips, which contrasts sharply with the smooth petals.
