SO51 is named after its centre, which is the most worked part of the flower. A strip of sola is cut into a dense fringe of small square-ended teeth and then wound into a large spiral, so the heart of the bloom looks like a coiled, textured button filling much of the face.
Around it, broad, cupped outer petals open in soft layers. Unlike skin-centre versions, the fringe here is entirely ivory, keeping the flower in a single calm tone; the cut edges carry a faint warm tint that highlights the pattern of the spiral.
The contrast between smooth petals and the busy, geometric centre gives SO51 strong presence in close-up settings: table centrepieces, gift boxes, diffuser tops and bridal work where guests see the flower at arm’s length. The fringed spiral also holds fragrance oils well.
Floral Mongers supplies this handmade sola flower for wholesale and export, in natural ivory or dyed colours, graded by size on request.

Natural variation
The fringe is cut and coiled by hand, so the size of the spiral, the spacing of the cuts and the spread of the outer petals differ slightly on each flower; natural pith tone varies between batches. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Store in a cool, dry place; sola pith takes up moisture from humid air
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to limit gradual yellowing of the ivory pith
- Avoid pressing the fringed centre, where the cut teeth can bend or snap
- Dust gently with a soft brush or a hair-dryer on a cool setting
- Diffuser or fragrance oil can be applied; test one piece first, as oil may darken the pith
- Unpack promptly on arrival and let the pieces air in a dry room; avoid storing in sealed, humid packaging
