The first is a ruffled, peony-like bloom with loose, crinkled petals folded around a gathered centre. The second is a compact dahlia-style head, its small scalloped petals overlapping in neat concentric rows that tighten into a coiled middle. Both are in the soft ivory of natural sola.
The cord is the working part. In a reed-diffuser set, the free end of the wick sits in the bottle of fragrance oil, the oil travels up the cotton and the porous sola pith absorbs it, so the flower releases scent into the room. The wick ends are left loose so they can be trimmed to suit the bottle.

Natural variation
Each flower is cut and shaped by hand, so petal curl, fullness and head size vary slightly between pieces. Sola pith naturally ranges from pale ivory to warm cream, and the braided wicks may differ a little in length and tightness. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
