The result is a full, rounded rose with a strong spiral at its heart and a gently layered, flowing outer wrap. Close up, each ribbon shows the fine grain of the pith, which catches light and gives the bloom a satin-like sheen.
The head is supplied without a stem and sits flat on its base, so it reads as a small sculpture as much as a flower.
