Center Down Ginia SO45 is one of the most finely cut flowers in the sola range. Instead of broad petals, it is made from a mass of narrow, pointed slivers of pith that radiate outward in every direction, creating a full, spiky pompom similar to a chrysanthemum or aster.
As the name suggests, the centre sits lower than the surrounding petals, forming a shallow hollow where the slivers curl inward around a soft, pale heart. The tips carry a faint warm blush against the ivory base, which adds depth to the texture. The image shows a group of flowers, each with its own slightly different spread.
The feathery outline brings lightness and contrast to arrangements dominated by roses and lotuses. SO45 works as a filler in bouquets and centrepieces, in wreaths and garlands, and on gift packaging where a fluffy, textured flower is wanted. The fine cuts also absorb fragrance oils readily.
Floral Mongers produces Ginia flowers by hand for wholesale and export buyers, available natural or dyed, graded by size on request.

- Seasonal and festive décor

Natural variation
Every sliver is cut by hand, so the density of the pompom, the depth of the recessed centre and the length of the pointed tips vary slightly; the faint blush on the tips is a natural tone of the pith and differs between pieces. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Store in a cool, dry place; sola pith takes up moisture from humid air
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to limit gradual yellowing of the ivory pith
- Avoid brushing against the fine petal tips, which can bend or break
- Dust gently with a soft brush or a hair-dryer on a cool setting
- Diffuser or fragrance oil can be applied; test one piece first, as oil may darken the pith
- Unpack promptly on arrival and let the pieces air in a dry room; avoid storing in sealed, humid packaging
