Dried fern keeps the delicate architecture of the living plant. Each frond branches from a thin, straw-gold central rib into rows of narrow leaflets, and every leaflet is itself finely toothed, creating a lacy, feather-like outline. As the fronds dry they turn from green to a warm palette of honey, tan and russet brown.
That fine texture makes fern one of the most useful backing materials in dried floristry. A few fronds behind a bouquet give it depth and a soft edge; laid flat, they suit pressed-flower art, framed botanicals, card making and table runners. In autumn and woodland schemes the golden tones pair naturally with pine cones, pods and dried grasses.
Floral Mongers supplies Fern naturally dried and packed flat to keep the leaflets intact. Bleached or dyed fern can be discussed for lighter or coloured palettes. It is available in bulk for florists, craft suppliers and wholesalers of dried flowers and foliage.

Natural variation
Every frond differs in size, shape and colour, from pale honey to deeper russet, and leaflet tips may curl slightly as they dry. Minor natural breakage along very fine edges is normal. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Keep dry and away from humidity, which softens fronds
- Store flat without heavy items on top
- Avoid direct sunlight to slow further fading
- Handle by the rib; leaflets are brittle
