Khejur is the Bengali name for the date palm, and jhar refers to a broom — an apt description of this product. Each piece has a flat, pale stalk that opens into a flared head of tangled, wiry fibres, shaped a little like a feather or a hand-held brush. The heads twist and lean in different directions, which gives a bunch real movement.
In the photograph the material is a pale sand beige with a slightly lighter tip, and the fibre heads look almost lace-like against the light. That texture works well with pampas grass, bleached palm leaves and dried reeds in boho and coastal interiors, and it adds a wild, natural edge to wedding arches and photo backdrops.
Floral Mongers supplies Khejur Jhar as naturally dried stems for florists, décor wholesalers and retail brands. As a dried botanical supplier from India, we bunch the stems and pack them long so the fibre heads keep their flare and do not flatten during shipping.

Natural variation
Every Khejur Jhar head is naturally formed, so the width of the fibre fan, its twist, stalk length and beige tone differ between stems. Loose fibres and uneven edges are typical of this palm material. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
Care & storage
- Store in a dry, airy space away from humidity
- Keep out of strong direct sunlight to limit fading
- Handle by the stalk to avoid pulling fibres from the head
- Remove dust with cool air from a hair-dryer on low setting
