The Sola Log Ball takes its name from its surface: dozens of thin, round cross-sections of sola stem are fixed side by side over a spherical core, so the ball looks as though it has been clad in miniature log ends. Each slice shows fine concentric rings and a small dark pith centre, and the slices are set at slightly different sizes to cover the curve without gaps.
The palette is pale ivory with warm brown edges where the slices meet, giving a gentle two-tone pattern that stays neutral from any angle. Because the ball has no stem and no flat side, it rolls naturally into bowls, trays and baskets. The product images show it massed in a woven basket, placed on a timber slice and grouped as a cluster.
SO03 is handcrafted from natural sola (shola) pith, a lightweight plant material that is soft enough to slice cleanly yet holds its shape once assembled. It adds visible texture to mantels, coffee tables and shelves without the weight of wooden décor balls.

Natural variation
The slices are cut and placed by hand, so ring patterns, slice sizes and the depth of the brown edging vary across the surface and between balls. Natural differences in sola pith also mean some balls read slightly whiter or warmer than others. These are natural characteristics of handmade and botanical products, not defects; shade, size and grade are confirmed on sample approval.
