Brown dominates this lotus. Nearly every petal of SO29 is covered in natural sola skin with a clear wood-like grain, and only a crisp white rim and a small white triangular patch at each petal base reveal the pith beneath. Seen from above, those white triangles line up into a repeating star pattern that radiates through every layer of the flower.
The petals are pointed and tightly stacked in several tiers, rising from a low outer ring to a cupped inner ring that surrounds the centre. In the middle sits a smooth, pale, round bead with a small central hole, an unusual detail that sets this lotus apart from the other lotus styles in the range. The underside, visible in the product images, has a flat round disc with a matching hole, which allows the flower to be threaded onto a reed or stick. Styled images show it in a wooden bowl, on stone and on hessian.

The brown facing is natural sola skin, so the grain, shade and size of the white inlays vary on every petal and every flower. Because each lotus is layered by hand, the number of tiers and the openness of the bloom also differ slightly.
