Pradeep means lamp, and the shape explains the name. Each piece is one half of a split, teardrop-shaped shell that tapers to a curved point, much like a traditional diya. The inside is smooth, matt and a warm sandy tan; the outside is a darker brown with fine lengthwise fibres, and the rim shows a thin, rough fibrous edge.
In the photograph several halves lie in different positions, showing both the hollow interior and the ribbed exterior. That dual finish makes the pod flexible in use. Laid in a bowl it reads as a natural sculpture; arranged in a circle it forms a flower-like motif on wreaths and wall pieces; and its cupped shape suits craft work such as small candle-style décor, painting and gilding, or holding potpourri.

Each shell is a natural pod half, so its length, curve, tip shape and the contrast between tan interior and brown exterior vary. Fibrous or uneven rims are part of the natural character.
