Seen face-on, SO23 looks like a stylised sunburst. A wide, perfectly round ruff of narrow, pleated sola strips radiates outward from the middle, with the strip ends forming a crisp, slightly scalloped rim. The pleats catch light in fine parallel lines, giving the disc a textile-like, fan-folded texture.
The centre is a low dome packed with tiny rounded sola tips set in concentric rings, resembling the seed head of a daisy or scabiosa. Its beaded texture contrasts with the straight lines of the ruff around it. The colour is a soft ivory with a faint blush warmth, and the side views in the product images show a fairly flat profile, so the flower lies neatly on a surface. Styled shots show it on a wood slice and in a wooden bowl.

Natural variation
The pleated ruff is folded strip by strip by hand, so the evenness of the rim and the height of the centre dome vary slightly between discs. Sola is a natural pith, so the ivory can range from cool to faintly blush-toned between batches.
